UK Search Engines - Google
The name 'Google' is derived from the word 'googol', referring to the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros.
Google was founded by two Stanford University students Larry Paige and Sergey Brin, in Larry's bedroom. They invested in a Terabyte of disk space and set up Google's first datacenter.
It has been estimated that roughly 76% of UK searches are carried out via Google. This could be put down to its accessibility and user-friendliness.
