SEOMoz quiz causes flurry of arguments amongst experts

An interesting quiz appeared on the SEOMoz site this week, consisting of 75 multiple choice questions apparently designed to test your knowledge of a range of search related topics. It caused some discussion amongst the Oyster Web staff as a number of the questions seemed poorly phrased while a number of the answers were either impossible to know unless you work for Google or downright wrong in our opinion.

It seems we're not alone - ex-Google guru Vanessa Fox has blogged on why it's wrong and pointing out that they mis-quoted her, and Danny Sullivan has also criticised a number of the questions.

Now I've no doubt that it should really be seen as a bit of fun - the results allowed you to be an SEO Dark Lord or an SEO Deity for instance - and that it was also a great bit of link bait that everyone else wished they'd thought of. However it does feel a little worrying given the amount of misinformation there already is on our industry. Doubtless we'll all be arguing about it for weeks, which was maybe the intention all along!

Opening Hours: 9:30am to 5pm, Mon to Fri, except public holidays.
